Design Tip: The finishing stitch on this design is our Vintage Stitch edging. On most HTD designs, there is a black placement stitch and a white tackdown stitch. We recommend changing your tackdown stitch color to coordinate with your finishing stitch color for best results. The frayed flower is done in layers and our sample has osnaburg under cotton for each layer.
The steps 11 and 12 will be the placement and tack down stitch for the basket then step 13 is the button holes. After running step 13, we used an exacto knife (or a good pair of small tipped scissors will work) to carefully slice a hole in the easter basket fabric in the middle of each button hole. We then took our ribbon and attached a tiny safety pin to one end and then weaved it through the button holes. Then step 14 will run a placement stitch for where to place the left end of the ribbon. Step 15 will repeat a tack down stitch that will secure that end. Steps 16 and 17 will do the same for the right side of the ribbon. Then cut and trim each end and they will eventually be covered by the vintage stitch of the easter basket on step 23.
